Anticipating Homeschooling Mommy-Hood

Today I was browsing in the children's section of the bookshop (looking for a nice book to give to a friend's child, just in case you're wondering!) and 'oohing' and 'ahhring' over all the sweet and adorable books! There were some outstandingly lovely ones, I noticed ... and some outstandingly interesting ones too!

As the oldest daughter of a homeschooling family, I've been brought up being homeschooled by my parents and helping to homeschool my siblings. It's a major part of my life and identity! And homeschooling is something I (usually!) can't wait to do with my own children ... imagine teaching them to read and write, introducing them to the beauty of creation and the joy of natural-history, exploring times and places far away through history and geography ...

Looking at some of the outstanding interesting books today, I found myself looking forward to 'someday' when I have my own children and am their mommy and teacher! I'm looking forward to having some sweet little ones and being a young mom ... but more than that I'm looking forward to having some curious and eager young ones and being a homeschooling mom. Assuming (for the sake of this post!) that God has marriage and mommy-hood planned for me one day ... homeschooling mommy-hood is going to be great!

And so - of course! - is being able to browse the children's sections of the bookshop and bring home treasures for the family homeschool library!

Those were such beautiful sentiments. If the idea of being a wife & mommy delights you then you can be sure that's what God intends for you. I'm homeschooling my 6 daughters, I love to read your blog & I hope one day they are as wise and intelligent as yourself. Your mamma's done well!

I know what you mean!!! Being second out of four home schooled children I too have the same dream as you. Although I've never really had the chance to teach my younger siblings school, teaching piano is a joy that graces almost every day of the week for me. I can only imagine what it will be like to teach my own children the essentials of life rather then just playing piano! What a happy, joy brining post! Thank you!!

My thoughts were among the same line today. I can't wait to have children of my own! I can't wait to see them when they first discover their hands and feet, teach them how to talk, and all the other wonderful things that come with mother-hood! It is so hard to wait.

"Me" - thank you for your sweet comment ... the idea of being a wife and mommy certainly does delight me; I'm enjoy this season of my life, but I'm joyfully anticipating that season of my life too! :-> Six daughters? How precious! It must be such a joy raising and homeschooling them! Thank you again for your kind words!

Ana ... I'm glad you like this post! It was a haooy post to write too! :->

Jennifer ...sometimes it IS so hard to wait; I know. But something I recently thought is ... being single for longer than we 'planned', girls like you and I have more time to prepare for wife- and mommy-hood. And we'll enjoy the blessings of a dear husband and some sweet babies SO much when God grants them to us!
